54rd International Heinrich Sch\u00fctz Festival in Bad K\u00f6stritz (October 2-5, 2025)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The International Heinrich-Sch\u00fctz-Festival can look back on a tradition of over ninety years and brings together keen music amateurs with experts in the field. The 54th<\/sup> instalment will take place from 2-5 October 2025 in Bad K\u00f6stritz, the city of birth of our namesake. It is organised by the International Heinrich-Sch\u00fctz Society together with the Heinrich Sch\u00fctz Musikfest<\/a> \/ Mitteldeutsche Barockmusik e.V.<\/a> as well as the Heinrich-Sch\u00fctz Houses in Bad K\u00f6stritz<\/a> and Wei\u00dfenfels<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bad K\u00f6stritz is Sch\u00fctz\u2019s birthplace. In Wei\u00dfenfels he spent his childhood and youth. The two Heinrich-Sch\u00fctz Houses preserve his legacy as living museums. Both celebrate their 40th<\/sup> anniversary in 2025 as places for research and knowledge transfer, and they offer an authentic setting for our programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Delve into a varied programme of concerts with the music of Heinrich Sch\u00fctz and his contemporaries at its heart. Among our planned events are concerts with Ensemble 1684<\/a> directed by Gregor Meyer and Ensemble Polyharmonique<\/a> directed by Alexander Schneider, as well as Earle His Viols with soprano Monika Mauch<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The accompanying scholarly symposium focuses on Sch\u00fctz\u2019s reception history: Under the heading \u201eHeinrich Sch\u00fctz in the intellectual and social history of the 19th<\/sup> and 20th<\/sup> centuries\u201c, leading scholars will present their latest insights into the reception of Sch\u00fctz and his music. The symposium also celebrates the 40th<\/sup> anniversary of the two Sch\u00fctz Houses and invites international exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition, the Festival offers numerous opportunities for shared experiences and conversations as part of day trips and convivial gatherings, as well as a festive concluding church service.
